Project and Submission Requirements
  • All teams must submit their projects via Devpost by Sunday, October 5th at 5:00 PM

  • Submissions include: written description, video/deck, and Github repository link

  • Teams will present their solutions to judges and audience

Dates and Times
HarborHack 2025 will be held over 3 days:
  • Friday, October 3rd - Starting at 5:30 PM (Kickoff & Team Formation)
  • Saturday, October 4th - All day hacking (Push AI tools until they surprise you!)
  • Sunday, October 5th - Final day, submissions due at 5:00 PM, demos and judging
Eligibility

HarborHack is open to hackers from all backgrounds and skill levels, including:

  • Developers, designers, business professionals

  • Subject matter experts, entrepreneurs, students

  • Anyone interested in technology, innovation, and community impact

We strongly encourage beginners to join! Facilitators will help everyone find a great team fit.

Team Rules
  • Maximum 5 people per team

  • No work created before the hackathon

  • No switching teams once formed

  • Each team may only submit one entry

Vibecoding Spirit

Build something that could only exist through vibecoding - not just shortcuts for routine tasks, but projects that reveal AI's most interesting potential. If it feels risky, you're on the right track!

Intellectual Property Policy
Who Owns What You Build
  • You and your team own the code, designs, and ideas you create during HarborHack 2025

  • HarborHack organizers and sponsors do not claim ownership of your work

Open Source (Encouraged, Not Required)
  • We encourage teams to share projects publicly (GitHub, Devpost) for community learning

  • However, open sourcing is optional - teams may keep code private

Third-Party Tools
  • You are responsible for following licenses of any third-party code, APIs, datasets, or tools

  • Respect copyright and licensing rules for external resources

Project Showcasing
  • By participating, you agree HarborHack may showcase your project for promotional purposes

  • This does not affect your ownership rights

Future Development
  • After the hackathon, you're free to continue developing, seek funding, or commercialize

  • You retain all licensing rights

Our Commitment

Enforcement
  • One strike and you're out policy

  • Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior must comply immediately

  • Violations may result in warning, temporary ban, or permanent expulsion
